PORTUGIESER PERPETUAL CALENDAR - Developed by Kurt Klaus in the 1980s and composed of about 80 individual parts, IWCÕs perpetual calendar is still the measure of all things when it comes to simplicity and technical elegance. All its displays are perfectly synchronized, and can be advanced simply by turning the crown. This version is equipped with a double moon phase display, showing a mirror image of the moon as seen by observers in the northern and southern hemispheres. Perfectly matching the colour of the two moons are the silver-plated dial, and the case made of shimmering platinum. This rare and extremely durable precious metal is sure to be just as beautiful in 577.5 years: the time from now that will require the moon phase display to be adjusted. Until then, the IWC-manufactured 52615 calibre movement ensures a precise rate. Fitted with components made of ceramic, the Pellaton automatic winding system builds up a power reserve of 7 days with the help of an 18-carat gold rotor.
